BLOOMFIELD, Conn. — Students at a Bloomfield school were dismissed early after police investigated a bomb threat that was called in on Tuesday morning.
Around 10:30 a.m., the Bloomfield Police Department got a call that contained a computer-generated voice message, which stated that explosives were planted in CREC's Academy of International Studies and was set to go off in two hours.
Police notified school administrators and responded to the grade 6-12 school.
The students and staff were evacuated and relocated to the parking lot of Foodshare on Woodland Avenue. Students were then taken to the Pepperidge Farms building and were dismissed to their parents.
After a search, police and the K-9 did not find any bombs in the school and deemed the school clear.
This investigation remains active. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Bloomfield Police Department at 860-242-5501.
