BRISTOL, Connecticut — The death of a Bristol woman found in her home Christmas morning has been ruled a homicide by officials.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said the woman, 83-year-old Diane Jones, had cuts to her neck and "blunt force trauma" wounds to her torso.
The Bristol police were called to the home in the area of Morningside Drive for a well-being check on Monday morning.
When they got to the scene, police found Jones dead in her bedroom. Officials ruled Jones' death suspicious, and her death was being investigated as a "potential crime," police said at the time.
Bristol investigators have not released any additional information at this time.
The Bristol Police Criminal Investigations Division is currently being assisted by the Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Squad, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and the New Britain Superior Court’s State’s Attorney’s Office.
