BRISTOL, Conn — Editor's Note: The video above aired in January 2023.
For the second time in 2023, a car crashed into Palma's Diner in Bristol on Friday afternoon, temporarily closing the business.
Bristol police officials said a two-vehicle crash happened around 2 p.m., the time the diner closes, and one of the cars went up on the sidewalk and struck the diner's front door. Nobody was seriously injured.
"The craziness never seems to end!" the restaurant posted on its Facebook page regarding the crash.
They assured customers that everyone was safe in the incident and that no one inside the diner was hurt.
"We are thankful no one was hurt and luckily this time the damage isn’t overly severe. Unfortunately, there is work that needs to be done in order to get the front door functioning and we will be closed until further notice," the restaurant added.
The restaurant suggested a possible solution to prevent future crashes into the establishment: "P.S. May be time to put a stoplight at that intersection!"
Earlier in the year, the popular diner was closed until April after a man stole a 2019 Toyota RAV4, and a police chase led the suspect to crash the car into the building.
