Police said they received reports that a threat had been made Wednesday morning and responded to the school with additional patrols along with school resource officers, and Board of Education staff at all schools.
Police identified the suspect as a 14-year-old. Officials said there was no ongoing threat to the schools.
The teen has been charged with breach of peace in the second degree and threatening in the first degree. They will be arraigned in New Britain Juvenile court.
