ROCKY HILL, Conn. — Rocky Hill police report that a pedestrian was struck by a construction vehicle on Winter Lane Thursday morning.
After a 911 call was received around 11:29 a.m., first responders from the town’s police and fire departments, and others from Aetna Ambulance, were dispatched to the scene, according to police.
Responding officers located the pedestrian, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, police said. Investigators discovered that the vehicle that struck the pedestrian was being used for roadway construction when the collision occurred.
Police said the operator of the vehicle was uninjured and remained on the scene; the individual is cooperating with the investigation. Rocky Hill police said they aren’t releasing the names of the driver, the construction company or the pedestrian at this time.
The Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Team was called in and will assume the investigation, according to police.
Anyone who may have seen the collision or has any information regarding it is encouraged to call Rocky Hill Police Officer Peter Vanturas at 860-258-2049.
