East Hartford crash involving police officer under investigation

The driver did not leave the scene and is cooperating with police.

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. — An East Hartford police officer was sent to the hospital after a crash Tuesday morning. The driver involved is cooperating with police during the investigation, police said.

One of the East Hartford police officers was involved in a vehicle crash on the 900 block of Burnside Avenue around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to police.

The officer was taken to an area hospital for evaluation and was later released with "no significant injuries," police said.

The driver did not leave the scene and is cooperating with police.
