EAST HARTFORD, Conn. — A suspect remains at large after a fatal shooting in East Hartford on Sunday, police said.
East Hartford officers were called to an area of Smith Drive just after 8:30 p.m. on the report of shots fired.
When police arrived, they found 31-year-old Omar Thompson, a Hartford resident, sitting in the driver's seat of a parked vehicle. Police said Thompson had been shot multiple times.
After initial treatment at the scene by first responders, Thompson was rushed to Hartford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
During their investigation, East Hartford police learned that a suspect dressed in dark clothing had run from the scene after firing several shots toward Thompson's vehicle.

The shooting remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the shooting or suspect is asked to call Detective Coe at 860-291-7552.
