Family of man killed in Bloomfield grieves loss of loved one, call for suspect to be brought to justice

The family gathered not far from the scene of that crime with the group Mothers United Against Violence to remember 31-year-old Timothy Ross.

BLOOMFIELD, Connecticut — As Bloomfield police continue to search for the suspect wanted in a deadly shooting, family members and friends of a man killed in that shooting are honoring his life.

The family gathered not far from the scene of that crime with the group Mothers United Against Violence to remember 31-year-old Timothy Ross of Bloomfield.

This vigil was different than many of the vigils put together by Mothers United Against Violence.

A lot of the time families know who the suspected killer is, and that person is already behind bars, but on Thursday night, this family not only grieves the loss of their loved one but also grieves the fact that they don’t know who killed him.

“It’s a shame that two little girls are without their dad, a fiancé without her fiancé, a mother without her child. We have to stop the violence,” said Rev. Henry Brown.

It’s been 10 days since Ross’ family got the news he was murdered in broad daylight. 10 days of family members not knowing answers as to who killed him.

Bloomfield Police said Ross was shot and killed at the intersection of Cottage Grove Road & Bloomfield Avenue shortly before 9 a.m. on December 4.

“Timothy was 31 years old. Two kids. Christmas is right around the corner and they daddy won’t be here,” said Brown.

Friends and family of Ross, affectionately known as "Cool Que" gathered to honor the life he lived, but also pray the person responsible for his death is caught.

“We want answers. The family wants answers, but most of all we want to remember his legacy,” said Brown.

Police said the suspected shooter was in a small SUV-type of car with South Carolina license plates, JDD 955.

“I pray for peace for Timothy's family. I pray that God provide intervention on their behalf and give this family justice that they so desperately need,” said Brown.
