Police identify 2 killed in Hartford crash on Main Street

The crash happened on Main Street and Florence Street.

HARTFORD, Conn — A man and woman are dead following a crash in Hartford on Monday. 

Police were called at 10:12 a.m. to a report of a serious crash at Main and Florence streets involving a Toyota and a Mercedes. 

Police said the Toyota was trying to turn left onto Florence Street when the Mercedes, traveling south on Main Street, hit it on the passenger side. Two other vehicles that were parked nearby appeared to be damaged as well.  Both people inside Toyota were wearing seatbelts and had to be cut out.

The two people inside the Toyota were both unresponsive when emergency crews arrived and were taken to the hospital. 

The Toyota driver, Angelo Santiago, 61, of Hartford, and passenger, Dulce Reyes, 27, of Hartford died at the hospital, according to police.

Three people inside the Mercedes were taken to hospital and have non-life threatening injuries, according to police. 

Officials said the crash caught on nearby cameras.

Members of the crime scene division were on scene reconstructing the accident
