HARTFORD, Conn. — An arrest has been made in connection to a crash and shooting that took the life of a Bloomfield man and injured another on Zion St. in Hartford back in May 2022.
Daniel White, 32, of Hartford, was arrested in Virginia on unrelated charges and was then taken back to Connecticut on Thursday to face charges in connection to Daryl Walker's death.
White was charged with criminal liability, assault and murder. He is being held on a $1.5 million bond.
Hartford police responded to a ShotSpotter activation on the 100 block of Zion St. on the evening of May 19, 2022.
Meanwhile, an office saw a vehicle speeding on Ward St. and crashing into a parked vehicle. The vehicle then "made contact" with the police cruiser and then crashed into the Hartford Police Substation building. Both the driver and passenger had gunshot wounds and were taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Police determined that the two gunshot victims were shot on Zion St., the location where the ShotSpotter went off.
The driver, identified as Walker, 26, of Bloomfield, died at the hospital, police said. The passenger, a man in his 20s, was listed in "stable" condition at the time.
