Arrest made in Wethersfield Ave. shooting: Hartford police

Responding officers went to Wethersfield Ave. and found a woman in her 30s suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

HARTFORD, Conn. — A Hartford man was arrested in connection to a shooting that injured a woman in the capital city on Friday night.

Police responded to the 400 block of Wethersfield Ave. at 9:48 p.m. after ShotSpotter detected shots fired in the area.

Arriving officers found a woman in her 30s suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment, police said.

Police found the suspect, identified as Eliezer Carmona, 41, walking on Stedman Street shortly after the shooting, according to the news release.

Carmona was charged with assault, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a firearm, stealing a firearm and robbery.

It's not clear what events led up to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
