When police got to the scene, the truck had fled the scene already but witnesses were able to provide a description of it, saying it was a white Ford F-150.
Police put out a general broadcast to be on the lookout for the truck and it was found shortly after by West Hartford police officers on New Park Avenue.
The bicyclist, 55-year-old Gilberto Davila, was pronounced dead at the hospital from his injuries.
Police arrested 56-year-old Cleveland Telfer in connection with the crash, and he is facing charges of evading responsibility involving death and failing to yield making a left turn. He was held on a $10,000 bond.
