Community baby shower held for new moms in need

HARTFORD, Conn. — It's a pre-Mother's Day celebration for those expecting and already raising little ones.

The nonprofit Urban League of Greater Hartford (ULGH) is holding a Community Baby Shower on Thursday evening for moms and caretakers alike in the Greater Hartford area.

Expectant mothers and families who have infants through toddlers can go to the ULGH offices on the corner of Woodland and Sargeant streets between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to gather free essentials and discover health resources.

Free essentials include a diaper bag, baby supplies and shower gifts, and fresh produce. There will also be an OB/GYN info session, free vaccines and boosters and information on various health resources.

Those attending must bring their child in order to receive services and items at the event. Walk-ins are welcome and it's not necessary to sign up. Free parking is available.
