HARTFORD, Conn — A Connecticut man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man in Williamsport Pennsylvania late last year.
U.S Marshalls officials said that in the early morning hours of December 9, 2023, the Williamsport Pennsylvania Police Department were called to the 1000 block of Memorial Avenue in Williamsport. Officers found a victim, Jermaine Derick Mullen, 29, of Williamsport, lying in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Mullen died from his injuries at the scene.
Officials said Benjamin Villanueva, 33, of Connecticut was identified as the assailant. On Wednesday, members of the Hartford Police department, USMS Fugitive Task Force and Connecticut State police apprehended Villanueva at a residence on near 1600 Main Street in Hartford.
Villanueva is being charged as a fugitive from justice pending extradition to Pennsylvania to face murder and parole violation charges.
