HARTFORD, Conn. — Two people were injured, one critically, in a double shooting early Tuesday morning in Hartford.
Officers were notified via ShotSpotter just before 12:45 a.m. that multiple rounds were fired in the area of Franklin Avenue and Preston Street.
When Hartford police arrived, they found a vehicle that had crashed into the porch of a house two blocks away. Police said the driver, a man in his 20s, was shot multiple times and rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Officials said that while officers were investigating the scene, another local hospital said a 19-year-old man had arrived looking to treat a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Police said the second victim was also shot during the initial incident.
Hartford Police Major Grims and Crime Scene Division are investigating the shooting. Anyone with information regarding the investigation is asked to call the Hartford Police Department Tip Line at 860-722-TIPS (8477).
