Here's who crossed the finish line first for the Eversource Hartford Marathon

Out of the thousands of runners that participated, here are the top finishers for the marathon, half, and 5K races.

HARTFORD, Conn. — A local marathoner was once again the first to cross the finish line in the annual Eversource Hartford Marathon in Hartford on Saturday; Alex Norstrom of Glastonbury gained another marathon win after winning the 26.2-mile race twice before.

Over 9,300 participants hit the pavement for the giant road race, put on by the Hartford Marathon Foundation, which held a 26.2-mile marathon, a 13.1-mile half marathon, and a 5K race. The races also had options for participants to compete in a marathon relay and compete in a wheelchair.

Participants came from all over the state and region.

Results can be found here and on the Hartford Marathon Foundation Facebook page. Here are the top finishers for the marathon, half, and 5K races:

Marathon

It was Alex Norstrom of Glastonbury who was the first marathoner to cross the arch at Bushnell Park and win the marathon with a time of 2:17:56. He also won the marathon last year and in 2021 and placed third overall in the half marathon in 2022.

Grant O'Connor of West Hartford came in second overall with a time of 2:20:11.

Sam Morse of Syracuse, N.Y. finished third overall with a time of 2:22:30.

The first overall female marathoner to cross the finish line was Angie Rafter of Glastonbury with a time of 2:38:09. Norstrom and Rafter are reportedly engaged. 

Rachel Schilkowsky of Providence, R.I. finished as second overall female with a time of 2:40:27.

Hayley Collins of Tolland came in third overall female with a time of 2:41:16.

Half marathon

Ethan Hermann of Philadelphia, Pa., won the half marathon by completing the course in 1:05:17.

It was a close finish for second and third place for Mario Vazquez of Farmington and Mike Durkin of Brighton, Mass. Vazquez finished the course in 1:06:39, with Durkin finishing in 1:06:41.

Annmarie Tuxbury of Boone, N.C. placed first overall in the female division with a time of 1:13:25.

Anna Oeser of Brookline, Mass. came in as second overall female with a time of 1:14:27, and Whitney Macon of Cambridge, Mass. came in as third overall female at 1:14:59.

John Prizzi of West Hartford placed first overall in the non-binary division with a time of 1:08:05.

5K race

Jason Gibbons of Northport, N.Y. took first place overall with a time of 15:08.

Malcolm Connor of West Hartford finished second overall with a time of 15:16, and Amruth Niranjan of West Hartford finished third overall with a time of 15:29.

Elizabeth Fengler of Wallingford took first place overall in the female division with a time of 17:22.

Amanda Chambers of Schenectady, N.Y. came in second overall female with a time of 17:32, and Laura Addison of Canton finished third overall female with a time of 17:40.

Shea Devanney took first place overall in the non-binary division with a time of 30:19.
