Right now, 300 employees report to the office in the Gold Building which has a café and a game room for employees.

"What it means for young people is bringing it back to life, our city being brought back to life is so important," said Lamont.

Lamont and Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam celebrated the official opening with a ribbon cutting.

Arulampalam said the expansion of this company in the city leaves a positive trickle down effect on the local economy.

"We’ve got a whole bunch of new restaurants, new bars and they get business, it creates this vibrancy," said Arulampalam.

Lamont said the move represents the upward trajectory the state is seeing when it comes to welcoming new residents and families.

"The moving vans were heading south but they’ve turned around over the last few years, a lot of folks are moving back into our cities, back into our state," said Lamont.

Of the 300 current Global Atlantic Hartford employees, 100 of them were hired in 2023.

The company plans to hire additional workers in the coming months.
