Hartford officer-involved shooting leaves suspect hospitalized

Hartford police said the Office of the Inspector General is investigating in coordination with Connecticut State Police.

HARTFORD, Conn. — Hartford police said a man is in the hospital after an officer-involved shooting in the city Saturday night.

According to police, the shooting happened at 8:12 p.m. in the area of Broad Street at West Preston Street.

A suspect, identified as a man in his 40s, was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, according to police.

No officers were injured during the incident.

Police said they recovered a gun from the suspect after the shooting.

The Office of the Inspector General is investigating in coordination with Connecticut State Police, police said.
