Man in critical condition after shooting in Hartford

Police said surveillance video from both neighbors and the city showed an argument between the victim and another person before the shooting happened.

HARTFORD, Conn. — A man in his 30s is in critical condition after a shooting in Hartford on Thursday evening.

Police were called to the 700 block of New Britain Ave. just after 9 p.m. on a ShotSpotter notification.

Arriving officers found an unresponsive man in his 30s suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

Police said surveillance video from both neighbors and the city showed an argument between the victim and another person before the shooting happened.

"It shows a clear altercation before the shot went off, these two individuals clearly knew each other, this was a personal dispute," Hartford Police Lt. Aaron Boisvert said at the scene.
