More than 700 job seekers attend hiring expo at Hartford’s Trinity Health Stadium

Over 80 employers recruiting for jobs across most career levels and industry sectors participated in the fourth annual edition of the expo.

HARTFORD, Conn. — More than 700 people seeking jobs made their way to Hartford’s Trinity Health Stadium on Wednesday for the Connecticut Department of Labor and Hartford Athletic’s Fourth Annual Hiring Expo.

A release from the state said that Department of Labor Deputy Commissioner Mark Polzella, Gov. Ned Lamont, Hartford Athletic Chairman Bruce Mandell and state and local officials joined in on the festivities.

More than 80 employers seeking candidates for jobs across most career levels and industry sectors participated in Wednesday’s event, the state said.

“With unemployment at historic lows, employers are working hard to find the talent to help them grow and compete,” Polzella said. “Establishing people-to-people connections between job seekers and employers is a great first step.”

Polzella thanked Mandell, the Hartford Athletic soccer team and other sponsors and participants for making the gathering possible.

Lamont said that the Hiring Expo was a great opportunity for both job seekers and employers.

“Connecticut businesses have tens of thousands of jobs available across industries and at all career levels. Today helps them to get those jobs right in front of potential candidates,” Lamont said.

Connecticut industries such as finance, technology, manufacturing, defense, education, hospitality, healthcare and more were represented at the hiring expo.

Mandell expressed excitement regarding the opportunity to team with the state and host the fourth edition of the event at the home field of Hartford Athletic.

“At Hartford Athletic, we’re committed to making a lasting impact by fostering a thriving community and creating pathways to succeed,” Mandell said. “We’re proud to be part of this community and helping people to take the next step in their careers.”

All those who attended the hiring expo received a special discount on any of this season’s remaining home matches for Hartford Athletic.

The state said major sponsors of Wednesday’s event included the state Department of Transportation, Eversource, Stanley Black & Decker, USA Recycling, Global Atlantic Financial Group, Right at Home, Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling and Braman Termite & Pest Elimination.
