Man in critical condition after shooting in Hartford: Police

The area was still active as of 8:30 a.m. with multiple police cars spotted at the scene.

HARTFORD, Conn. — A man is in critical condition after a Sunday morning shooting in Hartford, police said.

Officers responded to Homestead Avenue at 6:05 a.m. after receiving a notification that multiple gunshots had been fired. Police said a man in his 50s was found at the scene with a gunshot wound.

The man was taken to the hospital for injuries that are being described as critical.

The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crimes Scene Divisions are investigating the shooting and police are asking anyone with information to call the police tip line at 860-722-TIPS (8477).

The area of the shooting investigation was still active as of 8:30 a.m. with multiple police cars spotted at the scene.
