HARTFORD, Conn — A family of ducks needed some assistance from a state trooper in crossing one of the busiest roads in the state on Monday afternoon.
Police said that Troop H received multiple 911 calls about a family of ducks on Interstate-91 southbound in the area of exit 33 on Monday afternoon just before rush hour.
Troopers helped move the ducks out of the roadway and cleared the scene for traffic to continue on. But the ducks came back onto the highway later on, which caused a second response.
At that time, a DMV officer was the first unit on scene and responding Troopers assisted with stopping traffic.
In order to keep the ducks safe, Hartford animal control was then called out to help with removing the birds from the highway and relocate them to safety.
Video shot by Ashley Gentner and sent to FOX61 shows adult duck and four ducklings crossing the road.
