Man killed in Bloomfield fire identified

The 66-year-old man died Friday in a fire on Ivory Road.

BLOOMFIELD, Connecticut — The victim of a house fire in Bloomfield Friday has been identified. 

Bloomfield police said they are investigating the circumstances of a fire in a home on Ivory Road which left Howard Hakian, 66, of Bloomfield dead. 

Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and the cause and manner of death is listed as “pending further studies” until toxicology and further examinations can be completed. 

The origin of the fire continues to be investigated in a combined effort with input of the Bloomfield Center Fire, Fire Marshall and the Connecticut State Police - Fire & Explosion Investigation Unit.
