MANCHESTER, Conn. — Students at Cheney Tech High School in Manchester were dismissed early after a powdery substance was found on a bathroom floor, according to state police.
The school resource officer was alerted to a "suspicious powdery substance" on the floor of a bathroom Friday morning.
Officers conducted preliminary field testing on the substance. They said they suspect it is fentanyl, though the investigation is ongoing.
There have been no reports of exposure to the powder and no reports of injuries, state police said.
As a precaution, students were dismissed for the day. There is no threat to the public at this time.
