NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — One person was found dead after fire in New Britain Friday afternoon, the city's mayor's office said.
Crews responded around 12 p.m. to a fire at a 3-story residential building on Hayes Street, according to the mayor's office.
The mayor's office said that the fire started in the living room area and was knocked down quickly after arrival.
The fire marshal's office is leading the investigation and the Red Cross was notified. The cause of the fire and identity of the person found dead have not been released at this time.
