NEW BRITAIN, Conn — A woman was charged Tuesday after police said she lied about a child in her car that had just been stolen to get a quicker police response.
Adam Rembisz. New Britain Police Deputy Chief said Pamela Rodriguez, 29, of New Britain was charged with False Statement and Reporting a False Incident.
Police said around 5 p.m. officers were called to a report of a stolen car at 10 Farmington Avenue. She initially reported that her child was inside the stolen vehicle.
The incident happened near the Citgo station on Farmington Avenue.
Police said their investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen however the woman lied about her child being in the vehicle to get a faster police response. No child was ever in any danger according to police.
Police said they will continue to investigate the stolen vehicle complaint.
