ENFIELD, Conn. — A man is dead after a crash closed part of Interstate 91 in Enfield Tuesday evening, Connecticut State Police said. The highway has since been reopened.
According to state police, a preliminary investigation determined that a Ram 5500 was traveling on the highway north of exit 46 in the right lane of three when it hit TJ Jennings, 39, of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.
Jennings, who was located in the right lane directly in front of the Ram during the collision, died from his injuries at the scene, state police said.
The driver and two passengers in the Ram had no reported injuries.
An alert from CTDOT from 5:31 p.m. said that the highway had been shut down between exits 46 and 45 because of the collision.
Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked by state police to contact Trooper Dean #416 at Troop H at 860-534-1098 or through email at michael.dean@ct.gov.
