SOUTHINGTON, Conn. — Two people were taken to the hospital after a fire in an apartment building in Southington. Firefighters say that they are in good condition.
Crews from several fire departments responded to the scene at 28 Aircraft Road just after 2 p.m. Friday.
Two people had to be rescued from the second-floor apartment where the fire started but Southington's fire chief says they were not injured, though they were taken to an area hospital for evaluation.
Residents of the building say it was just recently renovated. While some residents will be able to get back into their homes this evening, the chief says that at least a few will be displaced for the night.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
This is a developing story and will be updated when new information becomes available.
