Missing Southington boy located safe and sound

SOUTHINGTON, Conn. — Police in Southington announced that they have located the missing 11-year-old boy for whom they said left home Monday and didn't return. 

Police said around 3:00 p.m. Monday, the boy was reported missing from his home. Police issued a Silver Alert. 

Police said shortly before 4 p.m. on Tuesday that the boy had been located on the walking trail in Cheshire  by a concerned citizen who contacted the Cheshire Police who responded to pick him up. .

Silver Alerts are issued by law enforcement agencies for missing people of all ages. Amber Alerts are issued for children who are believed to be in danger.
