WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — West Hartford police have identified the man who died after being struck by a car on Albany Avenue in West Hartford on Saturday evening.
Police identified the man as David Goldfarb, 80, West Hartford.
West Hartford police said that officers responded at 5:48 p.m. to a report of a car versus pedestrian motor vehicle collision on Albany Avenue near Mohegan Drive.
Police and fire personnel arrived on the scene and provided emergency medical aid to the adult victim.
The victim was taken to an area hospital but suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision.
The driver of the car involved in the incident stayed on the scene.
The West Hartford Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team is actively investigating this incident.
As a result of the incident, Albany Avenue between King Philip Drive/Trout Brook Drive and Seneca Road was closed to motor vehicle traffic in both directions.
