West Hartford police investigating shots fired at car, building

Several neighbors reported hearing the gunfire around 11 p.m. Tuesday night.

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — West Hartford police are investigating an incident where shots were fired Tuesday night, hitting a car and a building. 

At 11:01 p.m., police were called to the area of Elmhurst Circle after a resident reported they heard a series of pops nearby.  

When they got to the scene, several people in the area told officers they had also heard the pops.  in the area, Several said the sound was consistent with gunfire, and evidence of gunfire was located on the scene.

Detectives located two holes caused by gunfire were located, one into an unoccupied parked vehicle and one into an occupied building.  

There are no reported injuries.  

Police said it appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no known threat to the general public at this time.
