WETHERSFIELD, Conn. — Update on Monday, Jan. 8.
Wethersfield police said Monday that the untimely death on Silas Deane Highway on Friday night was determined to be a suicide.

Police officials said officers responded to 966 Silas Deane Highway at 6:35 p.m. for a report of an injured individual.
Officers were directed to the driveway of the Colonial Arms apartment complex, where an unresponsive man was located with apparent trauma to the head. The man ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene.
On Saturday, police identified the man as Steven Motyka, 46, of Wethersfield.
The New Britain State’s Attorney's Office and the Connecticut State Police Central District Major Crime Unit were also on the scene to assist with the investigation.
A preliminary investigation determined the death to be nonsuspicious, and there was no threat to the community.
