WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. — Passengers and staff at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks were treated to a special experience on Halloween.
Awaiting them in the terminal on Thursday were the mascots from three local sports teams.
Travelers could meet and greet UConn’s Jonathan the Husky, Chompers and Chew Chew from the Hartford Yard Goats and Dillon from Hartford Athletic. The three mascots walked throughout the airport, handing out candy to passengers and workers while taking photos with fans.
“Today’s visit builds on the Connecticut Aviation Authority’s commitment to enhance the travel experience at BDL and create a sense of place for passengers that represents Connecticut and our region,” a spokesperson from the CAA said.

The CAA offered its gratitude to UConn, the Yard Goats and Hartford Athletic for bringing their mascots to the airport, noting that it created a memorable moment for passengers and the airport community.
Bradley International Airport is New England’s second-largest airport, according to the CAA. Its operations are entirely self-funded, and the airport itself contributes nearly $3.6 billion to the regional economy.
The CAA was established in 2011 to strengthen, build on and operate Bradley International Airport and the state’s five general aviation airports, including Danielson, Groton-New London, Hartford-Brainard, Waterbury-Oxford and Windham.
