WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. — A traveler was arrested at Bradley International Airport on Friday after TSA agents found a loaded handgun in his carry-on bag.
Connecticut State Police stationed at the airport responded around 10:45 a.m. to the terminal security checkpoint where the handgun was found.
After state police determined the gun belonged to a traveler, identified as a 59-year-old man from Shelton, he told troopers that he did not realize that the firearm was in his bag, state police said.
The Shelton man was arrested without incident and was charged with circumventing airport security, according to state police.
The firearm and ammunition were taken as evidence, state police said.
He was released on a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in October.
