HARTFORD, Conn. — Police are investigating two overnight shootings in Hartford.
The first shooting police said happened around 11: 40 p.m. Sunday. They responded to a home on Westland Street on a ShotSpotter activation. While they were on scene, an area hospital reported that a 19-year-old woman had arrived by private vehicle for treatment of a gunshot wound to the back.
The second shooting happened around 2:15 a.m. on Heath Street.
Police said they were called to the home on the report of a person shot.
When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a non life-threatening gunshot wound to his groin. The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Chief Jason Thody issued a statement, “We are working hard to solve the shootings that took place today, and there’s no indication at this point that they’re related to one another. All of them appear to be related to particular disputes between people, and there is no general threat to our residents. We ask anyone with information about these incidents to come forward and help bring the perpetrators to justice or call the Hartford Police Tip Line at (860)722-TIPS with information. These investigations are active and ongoing, and we hope to make more information available as we learn more”
