WATERTOWN, Conn — A Morris woman is facing charges after she drove the wrong way on Route 8 in Watertown, according to state police.
Just after 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Troop L in Litchfield received several 911 calls reporting a wrong-way driver traveling south on Route 8 northbound in the area of Exit 34.
Callers described the vehicle as a Ford F150 pickup truck.
Troopers from Troop L and Troop A in Southbury were en route to the area when they received another 911 call stating the truck had stopped in the median, facing southbound.
When troopers found the truck still in the area of Exit 34, they found 60-year-old Tracy Forese behind the wheel.
According to state police, Forese acknowledged having drunk alcohol before driving and agreed to a field sobriety test.
State police said Forese failed the sobriety test and Forese was taken into custody and taken to Troop L where she was charged with driving under the influence, driving the wrong way on a divided highway, and first-degree reckless endangerment.
Forese was released on bond and is set to appear in court in October.
