TORRINGTON, Conn. — One man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Friday morning according to Torrington Police.
Around 3:50 a.m., a single-vehicle crash into a tree was reported on Pothier Road near Brandy Hill Road. Emergency crews responded and found the 1999 S10 Chevrolet Pickup was angled on an embankment off the west side of Pother Road with moderate front end damage from striking a tree according to police.
Peter Jacquette, 72 of Goshen, was pronounced dead on scene by medical staff.
Police said that this time, it appears to be a single-vehicle crash with no other occupants involved. There do not appear to be any obvious indicators as to the cause of the crash. Further investigation will be completed. The roadway of Pothier Road was closed but has since reopened. The investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have witnessed or have video of this crash is asked to call the lead investigators, Officer Vince Powell or Officer Dan Stevens at 860-489-2000.
