LITCHFIELD, Conn. — A Watertown man has died after a multi-vehicle crash in Litchfield on Tuesday morning.
The crash happened at the intersection of Main Street and Northfield Road (Route 254) in Litchfield around 10:45 a.m., state police said.
A Toyota Rav4 was traveling east on Main Street and crossing the intersection when a Honda Civic traveling south on Route 254 crashed into the Toyota. The Honda was hit into the northbound lane, colliding head-on with a Volkswagen Taos in that lane, state police said.
The Honda driver, who state police identified as David Kaufman, 82, of Watertown, died from his injuries at the hospital.
The Volkswagen driver was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, and the Toyota driver did not report any injuries, according to state police.
The roads in the area were closed for several hours Tuesday after the crash and the area has since reopened.
