HARTFORD -- FOX 61 morning anchor Maggie Slysz announced her engagement Thursday morning.
Cullen Guilmartin proposed to Maggie on a beach in Lagos, Portugal at sunset on Sunday. The happy event took place on Praia do Camilo.
She was taken completely by surprise.
"I think I said, 'What are you doing?'" said Slysz. She said Cullen had been carrying around the ring in a backpack all day.
The couple, who have dated two and a half years, bonded over their shared love of travel. The couple hasn't set a date yet.
Both Connecticut natives, Cullen grew up in Middletown, and Maggie grew up in the New Britain area.
