Manchester police search for Dunkin' stabbing suspect

The suspect is described as a white male with a white beard, around 50 years old, and was believed to be wearing khaki-colored clothing at the time of the incident.

MANCHESTER, Conn. — The Manchester Police Department is searching for a suspect involved in a stabbing that sent a 19-year-old to the hospital on Monday evening. 

According to police, at around 8:20 p.m. officers responded to the Dunkin’ at 255 Middle Turnpike West after a 911 call was received reporting a stabbing. 

When police arrived, they discovered that both people involved in the altercation had left the establishment before their arrival.  Police say the victim was taken to Manchester Memorial Hospital by private car.

According to witnesses at the scene, the suspect, who is believed to be homeless, was asked to leave the Dunkin' Donuts when a heated argument ensued. Police believe the victim, from Manchester who has not yet been identified, attempted to intervene in the dispute. 

The suspect reportedly brandished a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times before fleeing the scene, according to police.

The victim sustained stab wounds to his head, neck and back. He is currently in stable condition and is speaking with investigators who are working to identify the suspect, said police.

Investigators have identified and located the other individual involved in this incident. He is cooperating with the investigation but no arrests have been made and this remains an on-going investigation. More information will be released as the investigation progresses.
