MERIDEN, Conn. — Meriden police said one person has died after being struck by a car Saturday.
Police said the crash happened on near the Meriden and Berlin town line. Police responded to the area of 2121 N Broad Street for a report of a man laying on the side of the road. Police said the vehicle that struck him left the scene of the crash heading north on N. Broad Street.
A man was struck and later died from his injuries. The man was taken to MidState Medical Center via Hunters Ambulance where he died as a result of his injuries.
Meriden police said, "Newington Police Department located a 2016 Nissan Rogue operated by Alyssa Forster of Meriden. The Nissan Rogue had heavy front passenger side damage. Investigation reviled the Nissan Rogue was the vehicle that hit the male."
Alyssa Forster, 26, was charged with Reckless Driving and Evading Responsibility Resulting in the Death of a Person. Bond was set at $10,000.
