CROMWELL, Conn. — With the 2024 Travelers Championship at the TPC River Highlands in Cromwell approaching on June 19, here is a look at the changes and additions that have been made since the 2023 event.

According to the Travelers Championship, both "fan-friendly" and competitive enhancements have been implemented to the PGA Tour Signature event.

Competitively, the PGA Tour made adjustments to the golf course to maintain a challenge for the players, including using smaller greens for the ninth and 11th holes and changing the position of the tee box on No. 9, the Travelers Championship said. It was noted that these changes are consistent with previous years to both the golf course and the tournament, with the addition of a practice facility and a new clubhouse.

The championship will include a field of 70 golfers who will compete all four days without being cut, according to the Travelers Championship. A list of players scheduled to appear can be found on their website here.

The Travelers Championship also noted that this tournament will mark the first time that caddies are given courtesy cars, and that the wives of PGA Tour members will have a wellness area that was converted from the women's locker room at the TPC River Highlands.

For fans, the Travelers Championship said the tournament will have multiple food options, including Oro Pizza on the Event Lawn behind the TPC River Highlands clubhouse, and food trucks near the fifth hole.

According to the Travelers Championship, those food trucks include Crispy Melty, for gourmet grilled sandwiches; Freskos for gyros, chicken souvlaki, feta sticks and baklava; the Wright Way Burgers & BBQ for their double brisket smash burger and pulled chicken sandwiches; and the Blue Chip Creamery, for handcrafted ice cream sandwiches, including one for the tournament called the Chip Shot.

The practice facility will also have enhancements including shot data shown on a "large video board" and "special seating available to all fans," the Travelers Championship said.

Andy Bessette, executive vice president and chief administrative officer at Travelers, released a statement regarding the 2024 tournament in February, saying, “As we’ve seen in years past, bringing the best players in the world to Connecticut draws greater crowds, provides significant support for the local economy and enables us to generate substantial funds for hundreds of local charities throughout the region. Ultimately, that’s what drives us to continuously enhance the Travelers Championship experience.”
