Victim in Cromwell crash identified

The driver of a motorcycle was killed and the driver of a car was injured.

CROMWELL, Conn — A motorcycle driver was killed and the driver of a car was injured in a Cromwell crash on Thursday afternoon. 

At 4:43 p.m., police were called to a motor vehicle collision at 97 Berlin Road. When officers arrived, they found the crash involved one vehicle and one motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was declared dead at the scene by emergency crews. 

No other details of the crash were available. 

Police identified the motorcyclist as Steve Lee, 58, of Middletown. 

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash happened just east of the interchange with I-91 near the Lowe's Home Improvement store.  

The Cromwell Police Department, with assistance from the Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Team, is investigating. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact Officer Mitchell Brooks at 860-635-2256.
