CROMWELL, Conn — Police are investigating after two people were killed in a shooting at a rehab center in Cromwell on Friday.
Cromwell police responded just after 11 a.m. at the Apple Rehab Center on Friday morning.
A husband was visiting his wife, a rehab patient, when he shot the woman and then turned the gun on himself, FOX61 confirmed on the scene. They were the only two people in the room and there were no other injuries.
Apple Rehab is "shocked and saddened" about the shooting. The rehab center is in contact with the Dept. of Public Health to bring extra staff in to help those who may be struggling with the trauma of the shooting.
There were no evacuations and there is "no danger to the community," Apple Rehab told FOX61.
