MIDDLETOWN, Connecticut — Multiple suspects have been arrested after a Middletown home invasion on Saturday morning in which residents were zip-tied.

Middletown police said that officers were called at 10:21 a.m. to a house on South Main Street for the report of a suspected home invasion.

The caller reported seeing multiple masked men knocking on a neighbor’s door and forcing themselves into the residence when the occupant opened the door. The caller then heard screaming in the apartment and called the police.

Officers saw multiple men running from the building. Most of the suspects got into a maroon-colored, older-model Cadillac DTS sedan and fled the scene.

One of the men didn’t make it to the vehicle before it left so he fled on foot. A supervisor responding to the area found and arrested him on Pameacha Avenue.

Officers entered the apartment and found that two residents and their guest had been the victims of a home invasion.

One resident and the guest had just freed themselves after being zip-tied by the suspects.

Officers learned that someone knocked on the apartment door and multiple males forced their way in when it was opened. One resident was struck in the head with a firearm and was bleeding from a superficial wound after she refused demands to be zip-tied.

The other resident and their guest were then forced into zip ties while the suspects stole property from their apartment.

Among the items reported stolen during the home invasion were jewelry, a firearm, and other high-end valuables.

The victims and their guest were evaluated but didn't go to the hospital.

Officers then found the suspect vehicle on South Main Street. They pursued the Cadillac south on South Main Street (Route 17) into Durham, west on Route 22 in North Branford and north on Hartford Turnpike in North Haven.

The suspect vehicle crashed into another vehicle in the area of 1500 Hartford Turnpike and then a guardrail.

When the suspect vehicle stopped against the guard rail, marked cruisers were used to block the vehicle’s path and prevent the suspects from driving away.

Four suspects left the Cadillac and attempted to run.

One of the officers deployed his police K-9 'Koda.' Koda stopped one of the men and he was taken into custody.

The three other men were arrested by patrol officers without incident.

Middletown Officers located at least one gun during the arrests. This gun was determined to be the firearm stolen from the victim on South Main Street.
