DURHAM, Conn — Two drivers are seriously injured after a head-on crash on Route 68 in Durham on Thursday afternoon, according to Connecticut State Police.
Troopers were called to the scene at the intersection of Maple Ave. and Route 68, near Greenbacker Farm around 1:40 p.m., state police said.
A Honda Civic was trying to pass a Subaru Outback in a no-passing zone while traveling west on Route 68 when the Honda crashed head-on into a Chevy Malibu traveling east, according to state police.
The Honda also struck a Toyota Camry, which was traveling behind the Chevy. The Honda also ended up hitting the back of the Subaru.
The Honda and Chevy drivers were seriously injured and were taken to an area hospital for treatment, state police said. Their current conditions are not known at this time.
The Subaru and Toyota drivers had no apparent injuries, according to state police.
