ANSONIA, Conn. — After responding to a one-vehicle crash early Sunday morning, Ansonia police recovered a motorcycle stolen from Shelton, a handgun with no serial number and a very small amount of ammunition.
Ansonia police said that around 3:14 a.m. on Sept. 1, officers investigated a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on Division Street near Wakelee Avenue. Marcise Glover, 44, of Ansonia, was identified by police as the operator of the motorcycle.
Glover said he was riding on Division Street when he received a phone call; he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed while grabbing his phone, police said.
According to police, the motorcycle was reported stolen from Shelton. A 9mm handgun with no serial number was also found inside of a backpack Glover was allegedly carrying. Police added that a 9mm round was found in the pocket of Glover’s pants.
Glover was arrested and charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a pistol, failure to obtain a serial number, operating under suspension, distracted driving and failure to drive right, according to police.
Glover posted a $150,000 bond and will appear at Derby Superior Court on Sept. 16.
