CHESHIRE, Connecticut — Students and staff at Cheshire High School will return to the classroom on Tuesday following a report of a weapon brought to the school last week. The report led to a closure of the school on Monday as police investigated, officials said.
Police confirmed to FOX61 that the incident did happen and that after a thorough investigation, they cleared the school for classes to resume on Tuesday.
According to officials, the incident began on Friday when a student reportedly brought a weapon to the school. Police did not specify the kind of weapon used.
The school's administration was unaware of the incident until Monday morning, which prompted the school to close for the day while police went out to investigate.
Cheshire police said there will be school resource officers at the high school on Tuesday.
