EAST HAVEN, Conn. — A suspect in a shooting that killed a Southington man at a billiards bar two years ago has been arrested, according to East Haven police.
East Haven police arrested Willie Jamel Thompson, 47, of New Haven on Tuesday in connection to the shooting death of Julius Bolden-Lowe, who was 26 when he was fatally shot at Bullseye Billiards and Bar in August 2022.
"This arrest marks a pivotal moment in our commitment to delivering justice for Julius Bolden-Lowe and his family," said East Haven Police Chief Edward Lennon. "Our detectives, along with our law enforcement partners, have worked tirelessly over the past two years to ensure that every possible lead was thoroughly investigated. It is our hope that this arrest marks the beginning of closure and justice for the family of Julius Bolden-Lowe.”
Police responded to Bullseye Billiards in the early morning hours of Aug. 6, 2022, for a report of a shooting. A fight turned physical and then led to a shooting. Bolden-Lowe died at the hospital, while two others were injured and hospitalized, police said.
Days into the investigation, the state revoked the bar's liquor license and shut down the bar.
Thompson was charged with murder, along with several firearm possession violations. He is being held on a $2 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
