NAUGATUCK, Conn. — Naugatuck police said they arrested the father of a four-month-old Wednesday after the infant was found with several injuries.
David Alexander, 31, of Naugatuck, is facing charges of reckless endangerment in the first degree and risk of injury, police said. Police held him on a $200,000 bond and he appeared in Waterbury Superior Court for arraignment Thursday.
On Aug. 12, the Connecticut Department of Children and Families reported the possible child abuse of a four-month-old infant to police.
An evaluation at the Connecticut Children's Medical Center found that the infant had multiple "unexplained injuries" to their ribs, legs and ear, police said.
Detectives spoke with the infant's parents and obtained an arrest warrant for Alexander, according to police.
